Course Description
Bible Study Methods is designed to equip followers of Christ with the most foundational tools for studying God’s Word. Whether you are new to Christianity, need a refresher, or are looking for tools to sharpen your Bible study, this is a great introductory course for you.
Throughout the course the class will introduce various biblical convictions, such as the Inspiration and Inerrancy of Scripture. Then the course will provide a framework for the study of Scripture (Literal, Grammatical, Historical interpretation). And then the class will discuss practical steps for studying the Bible, such as observing the text, understanding the background, looking at the structure, making observation, and studying key words, to name a few.
Bible Study Methods is open to both men and women who want to grow in their study of the Bible.
This class is introductory in nature and is equivalent to a one-unit course. Plan for 1-2 hours of work per week outside of class. For a more in-depth look into how to study the Bible, please consider TEA’s Hermeneutics course, which is equivalent to a 3-unit course, and will require 3-5 hours of work per week outside of class.
